Bio
Molly Bertheaud (Canadian/American, b.1997) is an interdisciplinary artist who creates contemporary mythologies by integrating traditional techniques with modern technology. She has a background in industrial knitting, which she learned from her mother growing up. Her practice highlights the tensions between our lofty ideals and the limitations of our biological reality, challenging viewers to question how we can pursue our desires in a world of limited resources.
She has participated in shows and residencies nationally and internationally, notable presentations including in Radar 2024 with Galerie Hugues Charbonneau, Artch 2023, the Wassaic Project in Wassaic, NY (2022), Field projects in NYC (2023), Creér des Ponts Artsousterrain residency in Montreal, QC (2022), and The Icelandic Textile Center, Blönduós, Iceland (2021). In 2022 her work was supported by the Canada Council.
She holds a BFA from Emily Carr University and is pursuing an MFA at Concordia University.
She had solo show in November 2023 at McClure Gallery.
